Started in 2007 as an evening/weekend driver, the Scirocco was the third I have owned. Originally a 1.6 carburettor engine, this was not enough and the project for more power was born!
Upon finding my neighbour and friend Ron Haslett, the owner and driver of a MK3 Cortina Estate who competes in the Street Eliminator Series with horsepower in excess of 1000bhp, I also found Drag racing!
What started as a project for an engine conversion and a few touch-ups, has since turned in to a project to get the car running in the VW Drag racing Championship 2010.
